Its not easy being young, we face a world filled with hatred, judgements and high excpectations. although its all in our favour for success, we are pushed so hard that we forget who we are and what we stand for. society has changed to be in the sense of survival of the fittest. Its not fair but its the reality of being alive. We all on a daily basis see our counterparts who gave less of thier own or gave more of thier own, how they struggle and suceed and how life seems to be like from thier perspectives. So in a way life has become a race for success and our parents and adults aqround us approve of us to run it.
THE UNITED STATES OF AFRICA
Ist just me and Muammar Al-Gaddafi who believe the concept of a 'United states of Africa' would be good? Our beloved continent is not just resource rich but according to ( http://www.ssireview.org/articles/entry/from_dependency_to_self_sufficiency ) Africa is self-sufficient in terms of food production and labour. The only problem we would have then would be extreme corruption which would be easy to deal with then.
So the question is 'why arent we doing it?' I mean if you study the USA's history you will discover how it used to be independent states which have come together to form the worlds most powerfull nation in any mearsure. Why cant we as Africans form our own power country ?'. By African im not reffering to skin colour but the current inhabitants.
It would have 15% of the worlds population and by 2050 own 30% of the worlds economy. On the other hand there are ongoing issues in our beloved motherland, there is contiunous war in the central areas of the continent, various ethnic fights and violence has been witnessed in South Africa , there has been the breakout of the deadly ebola virus in west Africa and overall the continent is still struggling with corrupt learders and rebels but we too deserve a chance.
Its with pride that all the above mentioned are either eradicated or being attended to by the different governments. We as the continent have let the world to see us as poor, un-naurished and sick, when travelling to the metro areas of Johannesburg,Windhoek,Maputo, Durban,Abuja,Harare,Alexandria, Cape Town, Gaborone, Lusaka, Lagos, Cairo, Casablanca and Dakar one sees how well we have done. We have fitted the worlds critaria for sick, corrupt and animal-roamed, Our governments to this day continue to uplift that tag for us. Until when will the world see us as that?
My only hope is for our generation to do that, we already have an advantage since 60% of the population is under 30 years by age, given this we will soon be the worlds labour market, something the Japanese are consodering with us. Yes it would be a complex matter but it would take time to consolidate the continent with regard to government and all the politics we have on our continent but that should be an idea to note.
